Most people don’t know what they want. At least that’s what they’d probably tell you if you asked them.

Indecision can be one of the best markers of fear. Why? Because indecision lets you hide.

How do I know this? Well, honestly….it’s something that I’ve done MANY times myself. I didn’t know what I wanted to do, so I decided to keep the hellish corporate job “until I figured it out”. I didn’t know what I really wanted to do with life and career, so I took a course of study on a safe job-track “until I figured it out”.

And then I started business after business doing things I was good at but not quite passionate about with the idea that I’d do it “until I figured it out”.

See a pattern here?

Now, I’m not saying that if you’re doing this yourself that you’re wrong. I’m not saying that you’re lazy or scared or unmotivated. I’m just saying you’re probably pretty darn normal. And that’s OK! Just say so.

The thing is though, I believe that when it comes to it, you probably DO know what you want. At least you have some idea.

The more likely answer isn’t  that you don’t KNOW what you want, but that you’re not sure how to pull off what you want. 😉 So it’s easier to just claim indecision. Sometimes the scariest thing of all is actually knowing what you want. Why?

Because then there are no excuses. Then there is no reason NOT to go for it.

No wonder, then, that people rarely if ever take on that big question!

Tell me something….have you ever asked yourself SERIOUSLY what it is that you really want? Have you ever had “the talk” with your own Soul being? The one where you actually tell the TRUTH about your deepest desires and your truest callings? And for that matter, have you ever answered honestly?

Somehow I wouldn’t be surprised if the answer was “no”.

But avoiding this question is just another way to avoid being the person who you really are. It’s another way to kick the can down the street and “think about it tomorrow” (as Scarlett would!). Or the next day. Or the next.

But one of the biggest favors you can do for yourself is to have that conversation. And be honest about the answer. This is NOT easy. In fact, it can be one of the hardest things you’ll ever do.

It can also be one of the most enlightening things—AND the most rewarding things. Not to mention one of the most LIBERATING things, too!

When you allow your true Soul being to speak outside of “shoulds”, “hows”, and Social Constructs, your true purpose starts to emerge. The true you is unleashed. And she probably won’t want to go back to the way things were.

Are you ready for that? Are you ready to admit that what you’ve been doing probably hasn’t served you (or that it isn’t serving you anymore)? That you might’ve possibly been going down the wrong path for a very long time (and it’s embarrassing to admit it now)? That you’ve been living life according to someone else’s plan (even if it’s a coach or a mentor)?

It’s NEVER too late to get back on track. I don’t care how long you’ve been at your job. I don’t care how long you might’ve been running your business. It doesn’t matter how deeply you’ve buried your true self. It can ALWAYS be found again. There’s NO expiration date on a dream.

If you’re ready to jump in and find out what you’ve been hiding from yourself all these years, then we need to talk. If you’re ready to actually get CLEAR on the calling of your SOUL and embrace it (rather than fear it), then we DEFINITELY need to talk!
