So you want to burn down the cubicle. Call your life your own. Build a business that’s ALL about something you love. You know, make Who You Are into What You Do.

I’m here to tell you that you CAN do that. It’s my #1 mission in life. That’s what I LOVE to do more than anything.

Do you believe that YOU can do that? I do! So….why haven’t you done it yet? Hmm….

It can be SO easy to talk yourself out of your dreams. Believe me, I know. Sometimes the voice that says “let’s go” is trumped by the one that says “yeah, but…..”

I don’t want you to have to deal with that anymore! It’s time to kick the “buts” to the curb and show you that you really CAN do this. Honest real. You just have to get past the naysaying fears—because the FEARS become EXCUSES. Rational sounding reasons for NOT taking a chance, NOT going all-out for what you know is right, and staying in a situation that is probably NEVER going to change.

January was a nice little warm-up, an dizzying orientation to 2016, a whirlwind that just ended. And it’s time to get REAL.

Each week this month we’re gonna look at some of the biggest things that stop people from going for what they want—and I’ll turn each and every one of them upside down. You’ll see why all of the excuses are just THAT– and you’ll ALSO see why they don’t need to call the shots for you ANYMORE!

Because I’m not calling you out—I’m cheering you on. Because I KNOW you can do this.

It’s all leading up to the 5-Day DITCH THE CUBICLE Challenge, starting in February 22, 2016! In this 5-day Challenge, I’ll give you 5 challenges every day for 5 days that will show you what you REALLY need to do to get ready to fly the coop and do life YOUR way. 5 Game-Changing Challenges, 5 Steps Closer to Freedom, Passion, and Purpose. (If you already know you want in, grab your spot right HERE!)

For right now, though, let’s jump in and take a look at one of the FIRST things I’ve heard from those who tell me they’d love to quit corporate and to their own thing….

I don’t have time to get started with my dream business. I’ve got THIS to do, THAT to do, there’s the job, the kids, the husband…..there’s just NO time. There needs to be more hours in the day, I just can’t fit one more thing into my schedule…..

I bet you know this one. I did, too. But the truth is, can you afford NOT to make the time? When it comes to something as important as breaking free from the cubicle and living your passion? We can find time for that. Really, we can. Your planning your dreams doesn’t have to take all day. (Sometimes you can do it in 10-15 minutes a day.)

And not only that, but you don’t have to do it ALL in one day, either. You just have to show up. Consistently. And just a little bit at a time. But you have to show up.

Try This Little Game:

—Take a few moments today and take a “Time Inventory”. Write down everything that you have to do. All of it. The commitments, the obligations, etc. Anything that are “musts”, like family, day job, etc. Also include the fun stuff. The stuff you want to keep. Fitness, recreation, activities, date nights, yoga class, TV nights (I never miss the Big Bang Theory or Downton Abbey!) Include as much as you can.

—Now—let’s think about this for a moment: how much time would you “realistically” be able (or willing) to devote to your dream business a day? What would be your “designated business time”? One hour? 30 minutes? How about 15 minutes? I bet you could find that somewhere! Here’s the thing: even if it IS just 10-15 minutes a day, that can be enough! As long as you schedule it and are CONSISTENT about it. What this means? Put it on the calendar. Call it your “designated business time” (or something else like it). I don’t care how long it is. Just schedule it. Every day.

By the way—do you see anything on the schedule that could conceivably get kicked off the daily schedule? You know, stuff that you find yourself doing that doesn’t help but sucks up your time? (Like excessive time on Facebook….Lord knows I know THAT one!!!) Don’t beat yourself up for it. Just get rid of it if it’s not helping you. Seriously.

—When you’re IN, go ALL in: Set your timer. And clear the distractions. When it’s your business time, it’s your time completely. Be there for it. Let the chatter of your mind just go on without you and focus on the task at hand. This is sacred, special, dream-sowing ground here, so treat it as such! Figure out what you need to focus on each day during your time and GO FOR IT.

Set the time, show up consistently, and take that time seriously. That’s it! Three simple steps, one less excuse, one BIG step closer to your dream.

Next week, we’ll slay another excuse and get you closer to FREE! It’s all leading up to the 5-Day Ditch The Cubicle Challenge! 5 Days, 5 Game-Changing Challenges, 5 Steps Closer Free. If you already know you’re all-in, sign up right HERE!

So have you ever said “I Don’t Have Time”? What did it really mean? I’d love to hear about it (and what you did about it, too)!
